Founder, Director & Teacher / DJ
Peet AnimA
My name is Peet AnimA, and my passion is to share the art of DJing and music. If you feel the call of music, I am thrilled to guide you through this fascinating world.
A multi-instrumentalist from a young age, I have taught and mastered guitar, bass, piano, drums, and percussion. My journey has led me to explore a wide range of musical styles: world music, Latin, Arabic, classical, pop, blues, jazz, gypsy swing, flamenco, punk, rock, metal, and of course, electronic music in all its forms.
I began in student radio in the '90s, and over time, I’ve shared the stage around the world with renowned artists. I played a key role in the Quebec punk scene as the lead guitarist of Bald Vulture, a band with whom I released five studio albums between 1996 and 2006 and performed at prestigious venues like Vans Warped Tour and Rock Fest, alongside System of a Down, Snoop Doggy Dogg, NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Blink-182, Grim Skunk, Steve Hill, and many others.
In the early 2000s, my passion for DJing and electronic music grew stronger. Since then, I’ve perfected my craft through masterclasses with renowned DJs and prestigious schools.
I had the honor of giving a masterclass at the Bogotá DJ Academy in Colombia during International DJ Day in 2020.
I am also part of the Oui-R1 and Québec Dream Team collectives, which bring together electronic music enthusiasts from the underground scene. We’ve organized several iconic events.
As a DJ, I’ve electrified large dancefloors at major events and festivals across Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Colombia, and Thailand, sharing the stage with top DJs and international artists.
Teaching DJing since 2005, I developed the DJSM method, adapted from musicians for DJs. In 2010, I founded DJ School Montreal, which has become a leading reference for DJing and music production education.
Join me to transform your passion into a true skill. Together, we will create unforgettable musical experiences.

Born in 1985 in Tourcoing, France, I moved to Quebec in 1998 and quickly immersed myself in the world of DJing and music production. Passionate about technology and large-scale events, I started DJing in clubs in 1999, exploring various scenes: mobile discos, corporate events, clubs, beach clubs, and afterhours.
Over the years, I have developed solid expertise in music composition, post-production, and live performance. My technical and creative approach allows me to sculpt sound with precision, explore new textures, and craft a unique style.
Today, I share my knowledge at DJ School Montreal, helping my students refine their technique and develop their own sonic identity. With me, learning DJing and music production becomes an immersive and dynamic experience.

Electronic music production teacher
Virtual Light
Virtual Light is a psytrance producer and DJ hailing from Montreal. I've been slaying dance floors like it was 1999 since 1999 and have toured the world many times over, laying down my signature sound at all the world's top festivals.
The humble beginnings of my journey into electronic music began almost immediately after dancing my pants off at my first rave. Having been a rock n’ roll guitar player, I felt an immediate desire to get my hands dirty and start making some beats! With limited resources available at the time I hijacked my Mom’s computer and began my first experiments with Impulse Tracker and soon after ReBirth, Reason, Fruity Loops, and Orion Platinum as I then went on to make 2 full-length psytrance albums. I now use Logic Pro as my main DAW alongside an arsenal of analog hardware, modular synths, and am proficient with just about any VST / AudioUnit used in modern electronic music.
Aside from my own productions, I'm also a sound designer for Futurephonic, making some of the most badass preset packs and samples on the market for psyheads and other electro-deviants looking to spice up their tracks.
When I'm not busy blasting festivals, or cooking up a storm in the studio, I will be teaching production courses right here at DJ School Montreal!! Be sure to catch me.
